Evidence classes

A useful number needs a source, a date and a clear explanation of what it represents.

Verified

Supported by an identified document or measurement that can be checked.

Verified when dated

A supported snapshot for the date shown. It may no longer describe the current state.

Modelled

Calculated from assumptions. Read those assumptions before using the result.

Fixture

Demonstration or test data. It is not evidence of a customer's operations.

Unmeasured

There is not enough evidence to establish the value or behavior.

The intended model keeps these labels with figures in screens, reports and exports. Source evidence, rather than a user's preference, should determine the class. Confirm that a particular module and export preserve the labels before relying on them.
